1940 Ford Woody Station Wagon
In June 2005, Isle Capri Casinos contracted Boyd Coddington Garage to build this 1940 Ford woody station wagon to promote the casino to automotive aficionados across the country. The finished Hot Rod was displayed at the Isle of Capri Casinos throughout 2006.
The Boyd Look was implemented with subtle adjustments to the metalwork, including the altered windshield surround to accommodate a one-piece windshield, frenched headlights, louvered engine compartment and a custom smoothed dash panel. The Hot Rod’s high-performance 350 Chevy small-block V-8 was built with dual inline four-barrel carburetors and other components from Edelbrock. A 4-speed automatic transmission, a Boyd Coddington Pro Ride Chassis, power rack and pinion steering, four-wheel disc brakes completed with chromed bumpers. To give it a proper stance on Goodyear tires 17-in. rear & 15-in. front fitted to custom One Off custom Boyds Wheels. Gabe stitched the custom tan leather interior leather into simple elegance and added complement to the stunning interior woodwork. It’s united inside by a custom one off steering wheel, a tilt steering column, air conditioning and a custom billet dash insert nesting the gauge cluster. The paint is a DuPont Pastel Blue.
The Coddington quality is apparent in every detail of this Ford woody. The One Off billet accessories finish up the specifics including the wheels, every part up to the quality and reputation that carry the Boyd Coddington name. The goal was to translate a classic Ford Woody to all-American hot rod. Completing woody took 6 months from start to finish. The Coddington crew was eager to get started on the next project.
